CAT-iq, the wireless broadband technology for home communication, is designed for the next generation of IP based networks. CAT-iq requires a certification program that ensures a mandatory level of quality requirement to achieve consistent user experience of the different stakeholders. It furthermore guarantees interoperability of devices from multiple manufacturers for functionalities defined in CAT-iq.

The introduction of CAT-iq also requests new designs and form factors for future communication devices. Students from all over the world participated in the CAT-iq Design Competition, initiated by the DECT Forum. The most creative and prize awarded entries demonstrate exiting new product designs related to the CAT-iq technology.
